Web Programmer

The web programmer works on a range of technical projects to help improve and maintain the OPG website.

This includes setting up and improving a content management system that makes it possible for volunteers without HTML skills to update many pages on the site from a web-based form interface.

It requires fairly advanced programming in a language like Python or Perl to complete the tasks. There is some Javascript code on the site and strong HTML skills are also required for the position.

The web programmer also keeps the OPG site compliant with accessibility guidelines like those documented at CAST

If you have experience with Flash programming or would like to learn any kind of graphics design, the OPG site could benefit from improved graphics as well. We are also interested in investigating XML conversion and content syndication through mechanisms like RSS.
