lSeemingly contradictory to CIPA, U.S. Representative Christopher Cox re-introduced in Jan. 2003 the Global Internet Freedom Act (H.R. 48), which would provide $100 million over two years to help private companies circumvent censorship by foreign governments. Bill status: under review by House International Relations Committee.
